Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The air bag light remains on the driver's side dashboard. The Hyundai dealer says there is not a recall for this specific car for that problem. The repair station has told me twice that there is a recall in their system when they pull up the information. Since the dealer will not take ownership - it is costing us $463 to get fixed so the car will pass inspection.”

NHTSA complaint #10552054, filed 2013-11, 34,000 miles

“The seatbelt in the backseat on the passenger side has locked. Prior to now, the same seatbelt locked temporarily several times, lasting several days each time. Currently, the belt has been locked for several weeks.”

NHTSA complaint #10595934, filed 2014-06, 88,000 miles

“08 Azera: air bag light comes on along with passenger seatbelt warning. First would occur intermittently 2 yrs ago but for more than a week the airbag light would stays on (even when a passenger is seated or not). Had dealer look at it (when it was on) & they indicated it is the passenger seat belt / wiring harness issue they've been replacing under a recall. Indicated the car's VIN didn't appear in recall but service rep. Said it appears to be the exact same issue. Had replaced. Now it is occurring again. Requesting Hyundai corporate review and approve repair at no charge. …”
