“I am reporting a potential safety defect involving my 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy AWD. The vehicle has experienced repeated engine and drivability problems and multiple breakdowns following replacement of the engine by Hyundai. The original engine developed excessive oil consumption and was ultimately replaced by Hyundai with a new engine. …”

NHTSA complaint #11761344, filed 2026-09

“While driving, the vehicle in front of me stopped suddenly. When I pressed on the brake pedal it felt stuck and did not respond properly. The forward collision automatic braking system did not activate. This resulted in a crash. After the incident, the vehicle had fluid leaks and severe front-end damage and is not drivable. I am concerned there was brake system failure prior to impact.”

NHTSA complaint #11735447, filed 2026-05

“I own a 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy with approximately 114,000 miles. The transmission had to be replaced at around 98,000 miles. Recently, before my next scheduled oil change (I had about 1,000 miles left), my vehicle suddenly began making a loud knocking noise and lost power. The dealer informed me that the engine may have blown. There were no warning lights, oil indicators, or overheating signs before this happened. The car has been regularly maintained and serviced with timely oil changes. …”

NHTSA complaint #11697007, filed 2025-11

“A week or so after taking the car in for an oil change, I was on the highway and heard a rattling sound coming from the engine. There were no indicator or warning lights from the dashboard. The car then stopped accelerating. It was on, and the accelerator increased the RPMs but the car did not move faster. I safely got home and checked the oil and it had less than a quart. There were no low-oil indicator lights telling me the oil was low. Separately, this week, while driving in the city, the engine again started making rattling sounds and completely shut off forcing me to pull off the road. …”

NHTSA complaint #11728587, filed 2026-04

“Another vehicle t-boned my vehicle on the front left side. We were both traveling around 15 mph. As soon as he struck my vehicle, the air bags were deployed and the car instantly caught fire. The car was on fire before I was at a complete stop. I was able to pry the door open and crawl through a small opening after moving the air bags out of the way. I had to crawl into traffic to be able to escape the fire. If the door had been jammed more severely then I wouldn't have been able to make it out in time before the fire reached me. …”
