“Transmission. Less than 6 months of buying the vehicle, Hyundai replaced the transmission and now I’m still having problems..it revved up to 2.3 rpms but didn’t change gears then jerks into gear..not everyday but atleast once a week. I’m waiting now on the dealership to look at my car now..but they’re dragging their feet.”
NHTSA complaint #11642945, filed 2025-02“3 times now, I am driving and the vehicle goes into limp mode, the D on the dash is flashing but the vehicle sends no codes. The tech said the vehicle can immediately delete the code and they can't fix it if they can't duplicate it. It also hesitates when accelerating and is dangerous to myself, my 4 children and anyone driving around me when it goes into limp mode. There is no code, therefore they say they can't do anything about it.”
NHTSA complaint #11736861, filed 2026-05“My transmission went out at only 1800 miles. It slipped out of gear 2 times while driving. Looking on line I see that I am not the only one. Also people are saying that there 2nd transmission goes out also. I am in the middle of trying to get a buy out.”
NHTSA complaint #11593327, filed 2024-06“At approximately 1500 miles on the odometer, I started to receive a warning roughly one out of every 3 times I started my 2024 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. The warning would flash red and read Transmission System Error!, Check transmission oil immediately and would refuse to move out of first gear, revving to approximately 5000 RPMs. The onboard vehicle diagnostic system reads all systems NORMAL when performed and this error requires a vehicle restart to clear.”
NHTSA complaint #11616435, filed 2024-09“I was driving and the car started to loose power and then the engine light came on and the car would not go. Everything happened at one time. The wrecker took the car to the dealer and the dealer confirmed the transmission went out. It is very dangerous for a new car to have the transmission fail while driving. This is a new car. The transmission failed and it is available for inspection at the dealer. The car is currently at the dealer and I am waiting to find out how long it will take to get a new power train.”
