2003 Hyundai XG300 Vehicle speed control Problems

“My Hyundai 2003 xg 350 had incidents of lurching powerfully forward or backward even though my foot would be pressed hard on the brakes. It happened three times. The third time it did it, I had it in reverse with my foot on the brakes and while my wife was trying to enter the car on the passenger seat side, the car rabbit jumbed backward and cause her injuries that warranted taking her to the emergency room on september 12 2005. I searched the internet and found out that many other owners had the same exact experience and that they all had trouble convincing Hyundai of the problem. …”

“Purchased vehicle 9-5-03. First occurrence of violent engine surges occurred on 9-18-03. Dealership could not duplicate the problem ,and told me it should be okay. Engine surges/shifts occurred randomly over the next few months with another dangerous occurrence in december 2005 at crowded shopping mall. Dealership each time told me that unless they could duplicate the problem they would not be able to fix it. Following a trip to dealership in february 2005 dealership changed accelerator sensor which seemed to help somewhat, but speedometer went out in may. …”
