Example complaints

Electrical system: “While starting up the vehicle a loud noise came from front. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the starter needed to be replaced. But consumer was responsible to pay for parts and labor.”

NHTSA complaint #10095151, filed 2004-10

Engine cooling: “Consumer states for the past 2 years there has been an ongoing problem with a rotten egg/sulfur smell coming out of the exhaust, consumer has taken vehicle to the dealership at least 3 times to try and get the problem resolved, consumer has been told that the wrong type of gas was being used, that there was no smell, that a particular part in the vehicle could not be replaced only adjusted, consumer even had an update performed on the vehicle, however the problem still exists. Nar 8/22/02. Jb”

NHTSA complaint #566854, filed 2002-07

Suspension: “At approximately 11:00 pm on january 04, 2004 I was heading east bound on interstate 10 and exited the freeway at the orange grove exit. As I approached the orange grove intersection I proceeded on a green light to make a left onto orange grove. Traveling at a reasonable speed for the intersection, I noticed a loud pop in the front end, and consequently lost control of the steering. At this time I was forced to the right and came in contact parallel to a cement barrier causing minimal body damage to my 2000 infinity G20. No injuries were sustained.”
