“Cars steering wheel will clunk and turn opposite directions will reversing into parking spots or slowly taking off from being stationary. This has happened a few times over the course of 4 months and I've only had the car for about 7. Last night I was pulling into my driveway and the steering wheel sharply turned right, I shifted the car to park, and the car just completely died. Nothing had worked at that point, no lights, ignition, keys, nothing. …”
NHTSA complaint #11258685, filed 2019-09, 60,000 miles“On 12-04-2018 my wife and I began a road trip from southern california to bozeman, montana in our 2015 Infiniti Q50. The Infiniti Q50 is equipped with driver and passenger seat warmers. Due to the extreme cold, my wife (passenger) activated her right front passenger seat warmer to the high setting. The right front passenger seat warmer was activated from northern nevada to idaho falls, idaho, approximately for 9 hours. As we approached idaho falls, my wife and I began to smell a burnt odor coming from within the interior of the passenger compartment of the Infiniti. …”
NHTSA complaint #11162542, filed 2018-12, 80,000 miles“My car would not accelerate over 40 mph randomly after work. Once i noticed and tried to shift to a lower gear the car did not shift gears at all. When these things first happened there was no indicator lights on. The next morning the check engine light came on and the code pulled was P0720. After finding a repair shop to look further into the issue I was advised the car needed a new transmission to fix the issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #11548342, filed 2023-10“My car started acting weird, fob wasn’t working correctly, doors repeatedly lock nonstop and drained battery. I took to Infiniti and they said it’s water damage from my sunroof drains. It damaged my BCM. Infiniti has quoted me 3,700 dollars to fix. I’ve done lots of research and this seems to be a very common problem with the Infiniti q50 models. I believe this is a manufactured defect. This could of left me stranded because car wouldn’t crank.”
NHTSA complaint #11573027, filed 2024-02“My car pause and jerks then stops. This is the second time this has happened after being fixed. The mechanic said they had a recall on the 2016 models for this but not the 2015 but had to correct many of the 2015 models. The check engine light came on after it stopped. I was on the interstate the last time when it stopped. I am afraid that it might happen again without any warning. This is a life threatening defect that Infiniti needs to correct asap.”
