Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“This was as close to a disaster as I ever want, the perfect storm in driving. I was driving, with my two small grandchildren in the backseat, at night, in a storm that warranted a severe storm warning. The rain was coming down in buckets as I met another car on a curve. I hit the dimmer switch and my lights went out completely. In a panic, I hit it again and they came back on in full bright mode. The poor driver I was meeting got bright light, total black darkness and back to bright lights so I really owe him or her a lot of gratitude for holding it together too. …”

NHTSA complaint #10239457, filed 2008-08

“Front windshield on passenger's side is distorted at the bottom. Windshield has a separation in it which causes passenger to become dizzy when looking out. Please give any further details.”
