“While driving my vehicle, it suddenly accelerated without my foot on the accelerator. The RPMs increased significantly, and the vehicle went to full throttle, accelerating rapidly without any input from me. I immediately attempted to stop the vehicle by pressing the brakes, but the vehicle continued accelerating. I also attempted to shift the vehicle into Park and Neutral, but it would not shift into either position. I was forced to turn off the engine while the vehicle was still moving in order to stop the incident. After the vehicle stopped, the steering wheel and brakes locked up. …”
NHTSA complaint #11770908, filed 2026-10“The turbo does not kick in and caused the vehicle to not accelerate as needed when initially pulling out in traffic. Infiniti has a software update but they are charging owners to do it stating it is not a safety update but a performance update. This delay in shifting almost cause my vehicle to be hit because the car would not shift out of first gear. This also is not considered a warranty item to them.”
