NHTSA complaint #10186592, filed 2007-03, 96,371 miles“Fuel gauge is intermittent after filling gas tank with fuel. Fuel gauge is completely inoperative after 5-10 miles of driving after filling fuel tank. This is also causing a check engine light to come on. There are several complaints for this and it is a safety concern if your wife is driving the vehicle at night on the interstate daily without knowing the amount of gas she has. Dealership here will not sell the sending unit by itself, only the complete fuel pump at a cost of over $300.00. Something needs to be done about this.”
NHTSA complaint #10088625, filed 2004-08, 120,000 miles“New car, 7days old. Driving up to a stop light. The vehicle slowed, but would not stop. Crashed into car in front of me at 5 to 10 MPH. When I was slowing down, I had time to look down to see if my foot was on the pedal (which it was), then with both feet tried to get the vehicle to stop with no luck. Crash! Neither airbag was deployed, and no one was hurt.”

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure.
