“I took my 2001 Rodeo in for the 75,000 miles service today. The air conditioner (A/C) was blowing hot air. I figured it needed freon. I was informed by the seervice advisor that my vehicle needed an air conditioner compressor and gave me the charges. The warranty was good for powertrain. I am highly upset that the A/C compressor has gone out in less than three years. This should be a manufacturing malfunction at this early stage. I also was told I had to pay for the repair of my moon roof. It was either off track and something-nothing definitive. …”

NHTSA complaint #10072336, filed 2004-05, 75,000 miles

“Feedback of owner 2001 Rodeo (Isuzu 6-cd changer stereo/fm/cassette) hello, I am an owner of a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo ls, I always liked Isuzu before buying brand new, but I'm very unhappy with the little things alot. Isuzu 6 -cd changer is deplorable; I've had it already replaced.(fortunate once under warranty) this month 2005 the 6-cd changer just died again and all of my new 6 cds that I've purchased are stuck and damaged, with no emergency way to extract it. Customer told order would be over $400 dollars to fix. I dont even want another Isuzu 6-cd changer(3 times broken). …”

Check engine light on at 45,000 miles- 2 codes for EGR valve stuck. 5. Car stalled several times while in motion and finally just died. Needed new fuel sending unit at 55,000 miles, cost $1,300.00 6. Air conditioner broke at 60,000 miles, needs new compressor and condenser, received estimate for $1,200.00.”

NHTSA complaint #10237963, filed 2008-08, 60,000 miles

“I have had many problems with this car. 1. Servo valve 12/2005, 2. Door lock, 2005, check engine light, gas meter problems, replace gas tank 1/2008, 3. Replace alternator 9/2008, now my transmission is not working nor is my EGR and evap sensor. I only have 58,000 miles on this car. Also one of the oem brake pads fall out of the holding bracket and got stuck between the caliper and the rotor. Nothing but problems with this SUV.”
