“I purchased the vehicle used in october of 2002. It has 23000+ miles on it. It currently has 35000+ miles on it and the engine is clicking. The dealership notified me that the engine is no good. Not only did the engine go bad, but we've been putting oil in the engine like mad. I think we've purchased 6 quarts of oil in the 8 month period and there is no leak and Isuzu states this is normal . Also at just over 30000 miles the ABS light came on. The intake gasket had to be replaced 1 month after purchase and that in turn caused one of the valves (EGR I think) to need replaced as well.”
NHTSA complaint #10023386, filed 2003-06, 35,950 miles“The contact owns a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo. The contact stated that a malfunction in the security system in his vehicle seemed to cause it to repeatedly shut off. While driving various speeds, the vehicle would completely shut off, which would occasionally cause the power steering and power brakes to fail. He was able to stop the vehicle by applying more pressure to the brake pedal. The most recent failure occurred while driving approximately 55 MPH. He called the closest dealer that was 250 miles away and was informed that they would have to inspect the vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #10267505, filed 2009-05, 90,000 miles“When driving at any speed and when applying brake pedal to make a gradual stop, and when approaching an intersection or a traffic light, brake pedal traveled to floorboard, causing extended stopping distance/ brake fade away. Consumer noticed shortly thereafter that brakes kicked back in. Consumer has contacted dealer, dealer was unable to determine cause of problem. The vehicle pulls to the right. The A/C malfunctioned. The vehicle vibrates at speed of 35 MPH. The cd player failed.”
