“I purchased a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo from a dealership on december 4, 2014. I got it home only to realize the entire frame is rusted almost completely through. It's worse in the rear end of the vehicle. The frame under the hatchback area is almost completely gone. The dealership won't take it back and I can't afford another vehicle. I have not been able to contact anyone at Isuzu. The SUV is in excellent condition otherwise.”
NHTSA complaint #10678183, filed 2015-01, 134,000 miles“1) while driving my 2000 Isuzu Rodeo on 10/2/09, the left rear axle arm broke off the frame causing the car to stop and the tire vaulted to the front of the wheel well. Fortunately, I was moving at only 15 MPH. 2) this was the only occurrence. 3) the auto had to be junked as I found out the entire frame was corroded. The auto had 47,550 miles.”
NHTSA complaint #10301989, filed 2010-01, 47,550 miles“The suspension on my Isuzu Rodeo 2000 broke because of the corrosive frame underneath and it seems as if the metal used for the frame and suspension is part of a recall from what I'm seeing all over the internet so I ended up calling the deal ship and they want to do nothing for me and they tell me there are no active recalls at this time which makes absolutely no sense to me because the issue that I'm seeing with the recall just happen to me.”
NHTSA complaint #10662221, filed 2014-12, 101,000 miles“I own a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo it has serious frame issues the lower link and spring mount are failing badly on this vehicle the rest of the car is great but I have to put alot of money into frame work for it to be safe to drive. This vehicle failed while I was on my way to work on a residential street thankfully.”
NHTSA complaint #10323645, filed 2010-04, 145,000 miles“Pulled out of the parking lot on my way to work and heard a very loud scraping noise. Drove about 100 feet down the road but my Rodeo began to fish tail and was not drivable. Pulled over and looked underneath to find the driver's side rear suspension bracket had completely broken off the frame. Called Isuzu recall number and was set up with a dealer 2 hours away and a tow truck came to pick up my Rodeo and bring it to be fixed at the dealership.”
