“Symptoms of failure was present prior to complete failure. At highway speed, vehicle sometimes resisted steering input. At 20-30mph, steering wanders side to side and fights my steering inputs. When complete failure occurred, steering became difficult at low speed, parking situations. No warning or error message on dash. Vehicle was towed to dealer where they determined the electric motor on the steering rack suffered an internal failure. When disconnected from power, the steering rack was smooth, albeit unassisted. When connected to power, the steering rack was stiff and difficult to turn. …”
