“While in the act of parking my father n law's car at the mall. NHTSA complaint #10644546, filed 2014-10, 64,440 miles

“I leased a new 2009 Jaguar XF on 3/17/08. The car had one noticeable serious design defect that will certainly kill someone eventually. I reported it to the dealer, sale, service, and regional Jaguar. The car has the new paddle shifting levers behind the steering wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions. It is nearly impossible to drive the car without accidentally hitting the paddles -sometimes at inopportune moments, sometimes at high speed.”

“On the night of july 2nd. 2011, I stopped my 2009 Jaguar XF in a parking lot. I was unable to turn the gear dial selector from s (sports) and noticed a warning which said gearbox fault. I turned off the engine and applied the parking brake. I was unable to restart the car as the transmission was still engaged. I was unable to use the internet on my cell phone but called a friend who googled the problem and told me to wait a while. I did this and was able to operate the gear selector dial and continue the 30 miles to my home. …”

When it suddenly accelerated, I had the brake on, I could barely hold it back ,it jumped the curb .....I could not stop that car ,it was trying to climb a chain link fence... The only thing that stop the car was when I hit the steel pole...there was $8,200.00 worth of damage done to this car.... My son and I were not hurt ,but we could have been if it would have broke thur that fence... We would have went down a embankment and might of hit a tree, or rolled over.... …”
