“Takata recall the transmission slips out of gear all the time. Now my shiftier is stuck in gear.the car will be still and it gets stuck. I've had this car for almost five years and towards the end it has given me hell. Transmission always failing while driving no matter on highway or street. There's also a lag when driving above 50mph.”

“On 05/02/2012. I was preparing to park my 2009 Jaguar fx, came to complete stop... When it suddenly accelerated, I had the brake on, I could barely hold it back ,it jumped the curb .....I could not stop that car ,it was trying to climb a chain link fence... The only thing that stop the car was when I hit the steel pole...there was $8,200.00 worth of damage done to this car.... My son and I were not hurt ,but we could have been if it would have broke thur that fence... We would have went down a embankment and might of hit a tree, or rolled over.... …”

NHTSA complaint #10460382, filed 2012-06, 28,000 miles

“I was driving in a parking lot and came to a stop but the car then accelerated and I had brake hard to hold the car back. I put the car into park. When I attempted to put the car into gear again, I could not move the shifter. I turned the car off and restarted it, and the car ran fine the rest of the evening. The next day, I was again in a parking lot and as I try to park, the engine accelerates wildly. I was able to hold the car with the brakes and put it into park. Once in park, the engine continued to rev. The shifter was now stuck. …”

NHTSA complaint #10439312, filed 2011-12, 34,900 miles

“We just bought a 2009 Jaguar XF two weeks ago. Yesterday when pulling into the driveway, the car's engine surged and I went thru the garage door and didn't stop until I hit the kitchen cabinets, all the while, pressing on the brake. There are skid marks from the beginning of the driveway until the car stopped. No one was hurt thank god, but could have been serious if I had been on the freeway or anywhere for that matter. We had the car towed to the dealership and as of this moment, we have not heard what the reasoning is behind this engine surge.”

NHTSA complaint #10356007, filed 2010-09, 31,000 miles

“2009 Jaguar XF - sudden acceleration issue on three separate occasions. Driving about 20 MPH and the car accelerated - able to stop the car by pressing down fully on the brakes. It did not respond at first and then something shifted and then the brakes worked. With five minutes, it did it again and the only way to stop the car was to slam it into park. The car was towed into the dealer and the black box information downloaded to the manufacturer. No fault codes found and they could not duplicate the problem. It has since done it one more time and the emergency brake stopped the car. …”
