“A seris of issues plaque this model. Changed throttle body twice but car keep showing stability control not available, throttle body actuation issues with p2119,p2118 codes among several others. Car shakes and shuts down in the middle of driving. At idle, the car rev meter goes up and down and then shuts off. I have taken this car to galpin Jaguar over 5 times with the same problem and each time the problem remains the same. I have since taken it to another mechanic two more times paid thousands of dollars to replace parts and still the problem exists. …”

NHTSA complaint #11329742, filed 2020-06, 95,000 miles

“I have a 2011 Jaguar XJL Supercharged with 65,000 miles that has a knocking noise and is in restricted performance mode. The timing chain and tensioner were replaced by a shop, but that did not fix the issue and I’ve been told there is internal engine damage. The internal engine damage has not been identified. The car itself is in excellent shape, but I don’t know how to proceed to address the internal engine damage as the shop is recommending replacing the engine with a used engine from the salvage yard, but that concerns me as I don’t know the history of the engine from the salvage yard. …”

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 134,000.”
