“Well I was driving along and all of a sudden just lost fuel power, so I pull over, cut the car off, and started the car up again and drove about a 100 yards and it repeated the same thing over again. I must have did it at least 6 times till I got home. So I'm thinking that it might be the throttle box, it's a fuel and electrical problem.”

When in traffic or close quarters it has been necessary to place the shifter in neutral or reverse to control the acceleration. The dealer has had the car in his shop on three occasions. On the first occasion nothing was found. On the second occasion it was said that the fuel pump or its wiring harness were faulty and were replaced. On the present occasion it was thought that possibly this was a transmission problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10185950, filed 2007-03, 18,000 miles

“While stopped at a red light, foot on brake, shift in drive, vehicle went into very high rate of acceleration and lunged uncontrollably forward. Luckily there was no vehicle in front of me as I would have crashed into it. I notified the dealer and he referred me to a local dealer. The vehicle was inspected and I was assured that they found nothing wrong. This was a very scary situation and the manufacturer should seriously look into the matter.”
