“Wheels rubbing bottom of camper, rv is to heavy to stop with factory installed brakes. Invalid VIN consumer jayco has replaced our springs, we asked for an axle upgrade but they declined. Its truly an epidemic with these heavy rv units rolling out of production without the right equipment.”

NHTSA complaint #11232128, filed 2019-07, 2,000 miles

“My springs and axles are not up to the task of holding my camper up. The tires are hitting the bottom of the camper, causing them to have a big groove cut into them and damaging the bottom of the camper. Carfax cannot process this request. Photos attached. This damage was caused during delivery, unloaded, to the dealership before I purchased it. Had I known that, I would not have purchased it! Carfax cannot process this request. Vin invalid.”

NHTSA complaint #11207981, filed 2019-05, 200 miles

“There was a recall 1n october 2019 recall no. 19v-702. Jayco was supposed to fix the problems by replacing leaf spring + a rubber bump stop. They did not replace the weak leaf springs. As a result we ended up with a broken spring on along trip that LED to a complete failure of the suspension system. This could have ended in an horrific tragedy. Why did the not fix this? I am having it towed to a shop and will forward the cause damage from the repairs and explanation + pics when they finish repairing this.”

NHTSA complaint #11352481, filed 2020-09, 2,000 miles

“Two of my four leaf springs broke, my other two leaf springs show cracks forming and severe stress. When my leaf springs broke, my trailer brakes also failed to work. I did not realize my leaf springs had broke until I pulled into my campsite and saw my rear wheels in a very weird position. I crawled under and realized what had happened. I have the leaf springs in my possession and have pictures, but I cannot upload them from this computer. *dt*dt*jb both left and right rear leaf springs broke, other two are starting to crack. …”

NHTSA complaint #11205972, filed 2019-05, 10,000 miles

“Problem with my brakes. No brakes on three wheels. Need to check in fall 2017 and there was full grease in the hub. That's why no brakes. Need to change the springs left side, spring was dead. But now the fithweel is lower then right side.”
