2018 Jayco Travel Trailer Eagle Wheels Problems

“I am a ASE Master Mechanic and I do my own servicing. Recently I had some bad tires and bought new ones. Since I had the wheels off, I performed a wheel bearing and brake inspection. The rear left wheel had some small wobbling. When I took off the bearing cap I noticed hardly any grease. I took the hub off and there was hardly any grease on the inside bearing also. And I do mean hardly. It was like someone used a ½ teaspoon of grease for the 2 bearings. The outside bearing was so loose it almost fell apart in my hand. …”

“The vehicle is a Fifth Wheel RV. Jayco Eagle HT 27.5 2018. The frame cracked, welds broke suspension/springs/equalizers where all compromised and the unit started swaying dangerously on the Interstate. Thankfully we managed to get off the highway without the unit falling over and causing catastrophic damage to us or those around us. The speed limit on the section of the highway is 80 miles an hour. Every semi that passed us almost pushed the rig over. An RV dealership in Salt Lake City still has our rig and have now finished the repairs. …”
