“I have had this Jeep for little over a year and have had to replace the fuel pump, the drive chain, front control arms and now I am told that the subframe is rusted and apparently cracked as it makes awfully load noises in the back. I have contacted a Jeep dealer to ck on the replacement of the subframe. I agree, do not buy a Jeep.”
NHTSA complaint #11032327, filed 2017-10, 110,000 miles“I have a 2007 Jeep compass 4wd. The rear subframe on the driverside is rotten out and making the driver side rear wheel bend. I have a 4 year that goes in my car, and I have looked online. Jeep was made aware of the rust rot, and choose not to do anything”
NHTSA complaint #11209565, filed 2019-05, 142,000 miles“I had my vehicle in for regular maintenance and the mechanic informed me the front and rear subframe is rotten and have holes in them. NHTSA complaint #10714046, filed 2015-05, 91,097 miles“I experienced a tire blowout on I-70 while traveling at 60mph. Fortunately, no cars were around at the time or it could have killed me or caused serious harm to my car or another. I have been struggling with tire issues for some time, but they could not figure out why. I have had a previous blowout as a result of the inside edges of the tires wearing out too quickly. After having my car towed to a tire shop during this incident, they informed me that the rear subframe is rusted through and causing the tires to wear on the inside edges. …”
NHTSA complaint #11110287, filed 2018-07, 110,000 miles“Front end would shake when coasting at 40 MPH. Took the car in to the dealers with 44,179 miles and they told me I needed to replace frt lower control arms left outer tie and rt inner tie rod cause they were all worn out. So they replaced them all. All new parts and $1034.00.”
