Example complaints
Electrical system: “Battery failure after car wasn’t driven over the weekend. Left me stranded and had to get the vehicle jumped in order to take it into the dealership. If this had occurred in I climate weather it could have placed me and my family in danger. This is the second such failure we have experienced since owning the vehicle. I purchased and now carry a battery jump starter for a new vehicle for fear of being stranded. That is outrageous for such an expensive and new vehicle. Dealership cannot replicate and says they cannot find a parasitic draw. …”
NHTSA complaint #11771922, filed 2026-10Engine: “More than ten times in approximately the past week, the car has unintended engine shutdown/loss of motive power while parked or while driving, with and without the Automatic Hybrid Electric Stop / Start button activated. Last occurrence the vehicle failed to restart or have any indication of power for 30-45 minutes.”
NHTSA complaint #11765748, filed 2026-09Transmission and drivetrain: “While crossing an intersection, at low speeds (<5mph) the wagoneer immediately switched to park due to a failing auto park safety system. It left us stranded in the middle of the road while the car required two shut offs and restarts, all while watching cars drive by us. This has occurred twice in intersections, twice at stop signs, and three times pulling out of our driveway in the past three months.”
NHTSA complaint #11760475, filed 2026-08Fuel system: “Component Affected: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM / ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING / FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The vehicle exhibits a severe, life-threatening defect involving the dual-battery and starter relay architecture (related to manufacturer code P2AF6 / Starter Relay 3 Stuck Off). On three separate occasions, the vehicle’s Auto Start-Stop system engaged normally upon braking, but completely failed to restart the engine when the brake pedal was released. Instead of restarting, the vehicle experienced a total software lockup where it forgot it was turned on. …”
