“2005 Keystone Sprinter copper canyon rv and dometic refrigerator recall. Consumer states that dometic will not reimburse for the repair on the refrigerator. Ammonia had leaked from a cracked weld. The consumers reimbursement claim was denied because the repairs were not made within the specified time frame and the warranty had also expired.”

NHTSA complaint #10258970, filed 2009-02

“The contact owns a 2005 Keystone Sprinter. The contact heard a loud bang or pop and discovered that the refrigerator ruptured. He went to investigate the cause of the sound and noticed ammonia leaking from the vehicle. The dealer stated that there was a massive recall, and advised the contact to unplug the refrigerator and shut off the gas. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle is out of warranty; therefore, they would not repair it under the recall. The contact would have to cover the cost of the repairs. The failure mileage was unknown.”
