“I have a 2004 Kia sendona lx van and the wheel barrings are bad I fixed it once already a month ago and it is already broken again both times it completely fell apart in to little peices when I took the wheel off.”
NHTSA complaint #11319611, filed 2020-03, 18,000 miles“While driving at 10 MPH ,my daughter and I heard a clunk in the rear of our 2004 Kia Sedona lx. I was heading for a repair shop as a result and heard a second clunk and pulled off on a side street and drove 200 feet when the wheel bearing assembly came apart and the whole wheel flew off the van.”
NHTSA complaint #10295523, filed 2009-12, 70,929 miles“I had the front wheel bearings and hubs replaced at 65,000 miles on my 2004 Kia Sedona under warranty due to play in the hub. Last month during a brake inspection I was informed that they are bad again the vehicle now has 106,000 miles. This is a potential hazard as when they fail completely the wheel will fall off potentially causing a serious accident. I believe this to be a design flaw since this only vehicle I have owned in 30 years that needed bearings replaced even once much less twice in 100,000 miles. …”
NHTSA complaint #10319669, filed 2010-03, 100,000 miles“The wheel bearings disintegrated and caused the whole hub to come off. Luckily we were right around the corner from our destination and weren't going very fast.”
NHTSA complaint #10428691, filed 2011-10, 78,000 miles“Dt: consumer received a recall letter around june 13, 2005. She contacted the local dealership, and was told the parts were not in. She called back today and the parts still were not available. She called Kia, and they told her to call back and have the vehicle inspected until the parts were available. She has to call back again to arrange for that.”
