2014: “I was driving on the freeway and the car just started losing power. I pulled over to see what was going on and the car had antifreeze under the engine area and would not start again. The car has under 90,000 miles. Replaced the original water pump at 40,000 miles. The new water pump went out at 89,000 miles causing the engine to cease up.”
NHTSA complaint #11232920, filed 2019-07, 89,000 miles2012: “Started to notice a raw gas smell after driving or just start the car. I looked for gas leak but didn't find any. Brought the car to the dealership. And the service assistant said it was the fuel gasket. She also informed me that it is a very common problem. And sure enough it was the dust cover and gasket as she predicted. I feel that this is a safety issue that seems to be very common with this vehicle .”
NHTSA complaint #11323484, filed 2020-05, 65,000 miles2010: “Vehicle was leaking fuel. I could always smell gas but could see nothing dripping. Was driving down the freeway when the vehicle just died. The gas monitor said I had 50 miles to go before needing fuel. I got it towed in and was told the fuel pump was leaking. This was dangerous because I had no warning and was in heavy traffic of 70mph when it just died on a bridge. They tow cost me almost $300 to get it to shop. …”
