Example complaints

Transmission and drivetrain: “2004 range rover differential failure. The vehicle failed twice in traffic and just shut down, I had to have it towed. I am lucky to be alive, this problem was very dangerous, when I did research on the vehicle I was shocked to learn that it has not be recalled. The dealer will hit you for cost everytime, it was a racket and a shame.”

NHTSA complaint #10196388, filed 2007-07, 62,000 miles

Equipment: “While driving at speed in excess of 60mph the suspension, transmission, driveshafts failed multiple times. Require tow serviced each time due to complete powerfailures. Vehicle locked and forced me into emergency lane on the nj turnpike. Landrover replaced only the battery and alternator the first time and 3 months later the failure happened again , and they replaced the battery and alternator again. Vehicle has electronic problems I have had speakers, ecu sensors, steering wheel motor, parking sensors all replaced in a 12 month span of a 2 year lease. …”

NHTSA complaint #10205640, filed 2007-10, 37,000 miles

Steering: “While driving the steering column dropped in my lap!!!! Car goes to dealer and they replaced broken steering column. I was told that they have had many cases of this. Nhtsa needs to hold lrna liable for this and make them fix this common problem before someone is killed. Between this and the differential issues someone is going to get hurt or killed. Forget about all the electrical problems these cars have.”

NHTSA complaint #10145057, filed 2005-12, 17,704 miles

Electronic stability control: “My alternator started going out and as my car was dying out it started speeding up I was trying to push on the break and I got to try to push on the brake it would only force the car to go forward so I was just release my foot off the brake and just let the cargo and the car had went around in circles until it died out then I tried to get a jump from a bus driver”

NHTSA complaint #11053579, filed 2017-12
