2012: “Took my car to toyota dealership. They said my car is burning oil. I have noticed my oil does burn up quickly, smells like gas upon the dipstick, I have seen no oil leaks. The dealership said they have seen this same issue with other similar models like in the prius. My car only has 82,000 miles. I baby this car and take for all the appropriate maintenance. This is very upsetting.”

NHTSA complaint #11372732, filed 2020-11, 82,000 miles

2013: “Prior to a long trip we had the oil changed and fluids topped off when we arrived to our destination there was absolutely no oil in the car, no oil leaks just a complete blow out while driving we never saw the oil leaving the car, this has happened on all our trips and we always make sure there is oil in the car , upon arriving to a destination there will be no oil left. I understand there is a big problem with the oil blowing out of the car”

NHTSA complaint #11412916, filed 2021-04, 87,000 miles

2015: “My vehicle was in an accident on the freeway when my steering wheel started to wiggle- within 3 seconds my steering wheel violently steering left to right uncontrollably that caused the vehicle to spin out of control on the freeway causing a total loss collision. My vehicle has been serviced prior to the accident at Lexus of beverly hills at jim faulk- did a full service inspection, tire rotation to make sure safely of the vehicle. The vehicle is also still under warranty. …”
