“The dashboard is cracking around the passenger side airbag. The airbag was designed with a certain amount of resistance from the dashboard. Major concern with airbag deployment speed with less resistance from dashboard. Also concern about fragmentation of dashboard during deployment.”

NHTSA complaint #10994344, filed 2017-06, 60,000 miles“The sunroof door is rusted all over the metal surrounding the glass on the inside of the vehicle. The roof of the car is ok but I fear the rust will eventually get there. My concern is that the sunroof door might get detached while driving and may cause a serious accident. I have spoke to the local Lexus dealer and they say there is no campaign or recall on the issue. My car is always in the garage while not in use and there is no leak on the door so I believe is a problem with the material used on this model. I have another Lexus a 2000 gs 400 and the sunroof door is in perfect condition. …”

The contact stated that the hatch back door was designed to only open from the exterior and did not allow manual operation from the interior. The contact mentioned that she considered this to be a safety hazard. The vehicle was not taken to dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 100,000.”
