2006: “My 2006 Lexus IS 350 is using oil at an alarming rate. I bought the car new in 2006 and it gets it's regular oil changes, I have to add a quart of oil around around 600 milles driven. It currently has 189,000 miles, but this has been going on for some time. I looked up the information on the internet and it said to go to this website and report it.”
NHTSA complaint #11233298, filed 2019-07, 90,000 miles2007: “Today while driving my IS 350 on the interstate, it lost compression quickly and black smoke appeared from beneath the car. It continued to slow and stop running. It would not start again my 2007 IS 350 has about 85,000 miles. I called aaa and it was put on a flatbed tow and dropped off at a Lexus dealership. I'm waiting to hear what the cause is and the cost. Have others reported this issue?”
NHTSA complaint #11112185, filed 2018-07, 85,000 miles2008: “So I bought the car just yesterday and I searched the VIN in ur website and I saw that there is one unrepaired issue and I'm a little worried it could cause a safety issue later in the future if I don't do anything about it. The dealer where I bought it from told me the car was good with no issue so I was a little confused after seeing this. Below I sent a screenshot of the issue I saw and just want to know what do I do about it.”
