“The contact owns a 2017 Lexus NX200T. While driving 10 MPH, the rear middle seat belt failed. The seat belt became tangled around the contact's child's neck and failed to retract. The contact stated that there was no quick release button or method to make the seat belt retract. As a result, the contact had to cut the belt from around her son's neck to prevent him from choking. The child was not injured. A dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 8,500.”
