“Takata recall - my air bag never deployed on impact. As I was braking to park outside my garage door, the car suddenly accelerated extremely fast. My Lexus went through the garage door and I was braking but my SUV didn't stop until it hit things in the garage that stopped me. I even plowed into a piece of equipment that went out the back wall of the garage”

“I was driving my 2009 Lexus rx 350 at about 25 miles per hour when it suddenly rapidly accelerated. Fortunately there was nothing/no car immediately in front of me. I pressed down on the brakes and the car responded by slowing down. I have reported the incident to Lexus and will have the dealer inspect the car as soon as possible. (they gave me an appointment in 2 days.)”

NHTSA complaint #10330564, filed 2010-05, 29,000 miles

“Traveling east bound on texas highway 380 in denton county, tx. Traffic slowed as it approached entrance ramp to i35 southbound. I applied pressure to the brakes to disengage the cruise control and slow vehicle, nothing happened. Did this several times and also tried to turn cruise off from steering column lever. Cruise did not disengage, car did not slow, my vehicle ran into the rear end of the rock hauler truck in front of me.”

NHTSA complaint #10293953, filed 2009-11, 14,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2009 Lexus RX350. While depressing the brake pedal at 5 MPH, the vehicle accelerated without warning, went over a curb, and down a 7-8 foot steep embankment and over a high curb at the top. As a result, the contact crashed the vehicle into a parked vehicle and then rolled backwards. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000. Updated 08/05/16 updated 08/15/16.”

NHTSA complaint #10874371, filed 2016-06, 56,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2009 Lexus rx 350. The contact was driving at a low speed while driving into a parking space, when the vehicle suddenly accelerated and drove over the curb. She attempted to use the brakes which did not work at first to stop the vehicle. She then depressed the brake pedal with extreme force and shifted into park which stopped the vehicle before it could collide with a plate glass window. The vehicle previously had slight acceleration problems but when speaking to the dealer in january, the dealer stated that there was nothing wrong with it. …”
