“Tire pressure sensors appear to be overly sensitive in Lexus vehicles. I own 2009 and 2010 rx350s and both have issues with false alarms, and I was told that the dealer sees at least 20 cars a day with false alarms and they are selling nitrogen inflation gas to reduce the rate of false alarms. Although it's not very serious issue as far as direct safety is concerned, it can lead into the situation where the drivers will start ignoring the warning light that can cause dangerous conditions. …”
NHTSA complaint #10370730, filed 2010-12, 950 miles“The contact owns a 2010 Lexus RX350 equipped with michelin latitude tour tires, size: p235/55 r19 (na). The contact stated that the tire warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the tire pressure was low on all four tires. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The DOT number was unavailable. The vehicle failure mileage was 100,000 and the approximate tire failure mileage was 4,000.”
