“The vehicle looses power and hesitates to accelerate from a stop start. This happens when The HV Battery State of Charge (SOC) is below 30%. •The vehicle is in catalyst warm-up mode (cold start). The Motor Generator (MG) is in charge mode. As a result of this scenario I have almost been T boned 3 times while attempting a left turn from my home across a dual carriage lane. And again nearly rear ended because of the lack of power or hesitation. To me this is a big safety concern that Lexus do not have a credible fix for.”
NHTSA complaint #11679221, filed 2025-08“I am reporting a severe, systemic vehicle performance discrepancy on my 2025 Lexus TX 350h (2.4L Turbo Hybrid powertrain). The vehicle is officially labeled with an EPA rating of 23 MPG combined. However, under normal, conservative driving conditions, the vehicle routinely achieves only 17-17.7 MPG—a consistent 26%+ shortfall from the manufacturer's certified window sticker metrics. I have never gotten EPA higher than 17.7 since owning the new car. This has drastically limited the vehicle's safe total driving range to under 300 miles per tank. …”
NHTSA complaint #11764566, filed 2026-09“I am reporting a recurring potential fuel-system/EVAP safety issue with a 2025 Lexus TX 350 (same as Toyota Grand Highlander). On FIVE separate occasions (May, 6/27, July, 8/14, and 9/8/2026), I experienced an overwhelming raw gasoline odor associated with visible vapors coming from the fuel-filler/gas-cap area. Three incidents occurred after refueling; the two most recent occurred WITHOUT recent refueling and with less than half tank full. On 8/14, with temps in the 90s and approximately 135 miles to empty, I drove 30–40 miles, idled approximately 45 minutes, then drove another 10 miles. …”
NHTSA complaint #11762922, filed 2026-09“The contact owns a 2025 Lexus TX350. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and felt spongy, and the vehicle failed to respond as intended, causing the braking distance to be extended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the brakes were in good working condition; however, the failure persisted. …”
NHTSA complaint #11731115, filed 2026-04, 3,000 miles“When starting from a stop, putting foot on the gas pedal the car won’t move. Hesitates for a longtime. It has happened numerous times since purchased new. The manufacturer stated that engineering is looking into it, with no definitive answers. No warning lights. It just won’t go, at times which is a safety concerning especially when crossing with oncoming traffic. Unresponsive.”
