Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“The air conditioning suddenly stopped working and it was 107 outside. I took the Lexus TX to Lexus service and they said a pebble went through the condenser. I had leased the car brand new in June 2026 and right now it's October 2026. I drive mostly on residential streets. I don't actually know what pebble hit the condenser or when it happened, the air conditioning just stopped working October 8. Lexus said it could have been a slow leak or leaked out quickly and there's not way to know. …”

NHTSA complaint #11771214, filed 2026-10

“We were traveling 80 miles west of Fargo ND on I94 when we heard a loud bang. It became clear immediately from the wind noise that the sunroof had broken. We did not hear or see that anything was dropped on it. Thankfully the shade was closed. We pulled off at the next possible stop to inspect and noted a large whole in the sunroof and that the glass bowed outward suggesting the explosion was an outward force rather than an item falling on the car. There were no warning lights etc. prior to this happening. …”

NHTSA complaint #11754773, filed 2026-08

“03/15/26 Tried to start the car but it did not start. The display said Low Brake Power. This happened to brand new car. Called the Lexus 24/7 assistance, they jump start the car. Similar incident happened once again on 03/22/26. Called assistance they jump start the car again. The concern here is that it is happening to brand new car ran for only 2000-2400 miles. As the battery dies it becomes less safe to come out of car also.”

NHTSA complaint #11726225, filed 2026-03

“Air conditioner condensers being subject to road hazards, rocks/debri. Causing to lose all refrigerant. Multiple claims on Lexus forums. Seems to be a design flaw.”
