“The contact stated the rear brakes locked and began smoking. The dealer was contacted and repaired the brakes. This had occurred on 1 other occasion and again the dealer replaced the rotors/pads. The contact was told failure was due to rust, but no additional information. Failure happened approximately 15 months after starting up the vehicle.”

The service mechanic inspected the vehicle and recommended the rotors be replaced as they were warped. The manufacturer was alerted who the referred the contact back to the dealer. Updated 08/14/06.”

While the brakes were engaged the vehicle accelerated toward the oncoming traffic. The brakes were applied repeatedly allowing the vehicle to come to a complete stop. The contact was able to continue normal operation. The failure occurred on three different occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on three separate occasions for the identical failure and the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. …”
