I went to get my vehicle safety inspection and of course it did not pass. So that prompted my online research as to how to fix the problem. …”

The shifter is now loose and will not go into park . If I hold it towards the p I am able to get my keys out of the ignition. I now have to use my emergency brake and I have to start the car in neutral . Not a serious issue unless it progresses and the gearshift falls off. …”
