“My 2007 Lincoln Navigator ultimate 4x4 engine stopped running suddenly like it ran out of gas. There was a half a tank of gas in the vehicle. The vehicle would crank and crank but would not start. I troubleshooted the issue to a failed fuel pump. When I pulled the fuel pump out of the fuel tank I noticed that the wiring going to the negative side of the pump was melted. This is extremely dangerous that the pump was submerged in gasoline but it got hot enough to melt the plastic on the pump and wiring. There should be a recall for this issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10456003, filed 2012-04, 63,000 miles“Takata recall. At a slow speed, with the foot on the brake, vehicle accelerates. Speed is generally under 10 MPH and has happened during turning...either left or right. Specifically: it happened once turning left into a parking spot; it happened making a slow right hand turn on a street; it happened again during a left hand turn into a parking garage. We took it to a shop and the mechanic drove it. …”
NHTSA complaint #11207137, filed 2019-05, 75,000 miles“While making a left turn the engine shut off and barley got through the turn without getting hit by on coming traffic. Vehicle was towed to closest garage and checked out. The wires on the fuel pump in the tank were melted. Called Lincoln and they said they had no recalls and could not do anything about it, at that temperature don't know why it didn't explode or start a fire since it is sitting in the gas tank..”
NHTSA complaint #10575807, filed 2014-03, 70,000 miles“My 2007 Lincoln Navigator may need rail cross-over hose because it contains weak areas. The hose may crack, which could cause a fuel odor and/or fuel leak. This is what I'm smelling outside of my truck.”
NHTSA complaint #11193571, filed 2019-04“The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Navigator. While driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle lost all power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the fuel tank failed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.”
