“After a vehicle collision, the right rear seat belt buckle unlocked. This cause the child to be thrown to the other side of the vehicle. The child suffered minor hip injures. The cause has yet to be determine. The dealership was notified but was unable to resolve the problem. Please provide any additional information. Vehicle was totaled. Consumer was driving between 50 to 60 MPH. Also, consumer hit an ice, possibly a block, when vehicle spun out of control and slid across the road hitting an embankment.”
NHTSA complaint #10051972, filed 2004-03, 142,000 miles“The contact owns a 1995 Lincoln towncar. While driving approximately 5 MPH, the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. The light stayed on whether there was a front passenger seated or not. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated that the driver side seat belt assembly was defetive. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 77,000 and the current mileage was 77,998. Updated 03/29/11 the dealer informed the consumer an electrical part failed. Updated 10/12/11”
