“Warning light came on beeped 5x in a row several times stopped then repeated over and over as long as we were driving. Cost over 450.00 to replace seat belt. There seem to be many of this same problem listed. I have had 7 town cars in the last 20 years, never had a problem. I have already had a recall repair on the steering column. But, still love that car!!!”
NHTSA complaint #10616046, filed 2014-07, 110,000 miles“Seatbelt sensor on our 06 Lincoln Town Car failed and replacement cost to replace the sensor is very prohibitive. I read many complaints with this same issue, so I believe ford/Lincoln should be required to recall and replace said equipment.”
NHTSA complaint #11240631, filed 2019-07, 97,000 miles“Upon driving the vehicle the air bag light would come on....and the seatbelt alarm would sound over and over again. So I took the car into allan vigil ford to be checked. They told me my seat belt needed to be replaced, which they said they had to pull the dash out to get to the proper parts. The cost of this repair was $594.27......the light came on again in september 9, 2013...at which time I carried it back to allan vigil and was told it was then the passenger side seatbelt with the same issue..... …”
NHTSA complaint #10559836, filed 2014-01, 78,753 miles“The passive restraint indicator light (shows an airbag and seatbelt), also called seatbelt retractor, came on and remained on with an audible alarm (5 beeps, 5 times) repeating every 30 minutes. The problem diagnosis was for the right front seat belt pretensioner (passenger side). A Lincoln dealer service employee said the airbag will not work with this problem. At another Lincoln dealership I was told many 2006 towncars had the same problem, but on the driver? Side, mine is on the passenger. The problem started around 114,000 miles, my car is now about 117,000 miles. …”
NHTSA complaint #10458479, filed 2012-05, 114,000 miles“Chimes 5 times and repeats 5 times. This occurs every 30 minutes once car is started and seat belt/aibag light continuously on. Diagnosed by ford dealer as driver's seat belt retracror. Replaced and chime and light will not go off. Happens while stationary and while car is in motion. Haven't attempted to repair again due to cost and have read that this doesn't necessarily fix the problem.”
