“When the electric seat switch was pushed to move the seat forward the seat did not stop when the switch was released it continued completely forward trapping my wife between the seat and steering wheel. Being home alone she panicked because she could not get out. After calling a friend she relaxed and was able to forcefully push herself out.”
NHTSA complaint #10639644, filed 2014-09, 85,093 miles“The 'the Lincoln motor company ' important safety recall' is just another ford lie. It states 'there is no charge to vehicle owners for recall repairs performed by an authorized dealer.' ford has closed all of the Lincoln dealerships in the immediate san francisco area. The nearest Lincoln dealerships are an hour away during off-peak traffic hours. Forget it during peak traffic hours. When you get to the dealership, they have no loaner vehicle. They don't even have a rental on-site. You have to make your own arrangements someplace across town. …”
NHTSA complaint #10681933, filed 2015-02, 60,000 miles“When key is inserted in ignition, the seat slams forward into the steering wheel and then reverses slamming to extreme back position and then reverses repeating action. At same time the brake and gas pedal extends upward and down. The forward seat motion could crush a chest against the steering wheel, and the backward motion could break legs of a person sitting in the back seat. If this occurs while car is in motion, there would be no way to control the car, I.e. No way to turn the steering wheel, or apply brakes. …”
