2026: “Last spring my car had a drive system fault and the car stopped operating while on the road. Lucid replaced the computer system at my cost because I am a commercial driver. This last Thursday I was driving and my car went into turtle moad for no reason while I was on the freeway when I pulled off the road it ceased operating again. The rear inverter and power unit failed.”
NHTSA complaint #11765537, filed 2026-092023: “The vehicle became completely inoperable suddenly while driving on the road due to a drive unit failure. Fortunately, I was still at an intersection when this occurred. I don't what would have happened if I was in motion, especially at higher speed on a highway. The car was towed to the nearest Lucid service center, but it remains there over 6 weeks later as they are not able to fix the problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11662966, filed 2025-052024: “The recent software update v2.5.0 has been very unstable. The screens would often black out every 30 seconds and calls get cut off. But the biggest problem was it resetting profile while driving on the highway! Theres no way to fix it and we had to pull over on the side to switch profiles again to fix the seat. We called them and lucid has yet to call us back. This is a safety issue”
