Example complaints

Engine: “I have a recall letter dated may 18, 2018 recall#18v-173 my vehicle when being operated at speeds of approximately 2 miles per hour (low engine RPM), which can be encountered during heavy stop-and-go (bumper-to-bumper) traffic conditions, causes the engine to shut down. The dealership is unable to resolve the issue after four(4) attempts.”

NHTSA complaint #11131104, filed 2018-09, 18,350 miles

Transmission and drivetrain: “I was driving at about 60 MPH and had to break because a vehicle pulled in front of me. My vehicle slowed very well but when I eased up off the break the vehicle just accelerated on its own at a very high rate of speed. I almost collided with the car in front of me. I braked again and the vehicle slowed but when I eased up off the brake the car again accelerated at a high rate of speed. It did this for about four times until I had to pull over off the road and put the car in park and waited for a while before I was able to control the car and drive home. …”

NHTSA complaint #11317796, filed 2020-03, 24,300 miles

Electrical system: “Power trunk does not have safety stop sensor. My wife was grabbing things from the trunk when the trunk lid started closing and does not stop when it was closing on her head. She was able to force herself out and the trunk lid continued to close. This is a major safety concern as it can close on anyone including children without a safety feature to stop and reopen when sensing pressure.”

NHTSA complaint #11098928, filed 2018-05, 13,000 miles

Brakes: “The contact owns a 2017 Maserati Ghibli. While driving approximately 5 MPH, there was a sudden loss of power and the brakes failed to engage when the brake pedal was depressed. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of the preceding vehicle. A police report was filed. The contact sustained unknown injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that a specialist would be assigned to take photos of the vehicle; however, a specialist failed to appear. …”
