2020 Mazda CX-5 Technical Service Bulletins
448 technical service bulletins (TSBs) are on record for the 2020 Mazda CX-5. TSBs are notes manufacturers send to dealers about repair procedures for issues seen in the field. They are not recalls and do not by themselves mean a vehicle has a fault.
- 10241612Aug 16, 2023Engine cooling. A new cylinder head assembly for service parts has been newly established for SKYACTIV-G 2.5 with cylinder deactivation when replacement is needed. Valves, valve springs, valve spring seats, and cotters (IN/EX) are included in the new assembly. Dealers can now utilize the Limited Parts Ordering (LPO) page on eMDCS to order the repair parts for 2.5L (with cylinder deactivation) and 2.5L turbo cylinder head repairs.

This surging is in the longitudinal direction, felt about 2 cycles per second, and occurs in the locked up 1st gear. This may be caused by the torque fluctuation and the torsional resonance in the torque converter. To correct this concern, the PCM software has been modified to reduce the torque fluctuation.
- 10240492Jul 28, 2023Suspension. Some customers have reported experiencing a one-time popping or clunking sound while driving their vehicle. The noise is most noticeable when duplicating the driving conditions of going up or down an incline while simultaneously making a turn. NOTE: For Mazda6 vehicles, the noise may only be heard once per day. To reproduce the concern, allow the vehicle to sit overnight and then drive it.
- 10240399Jul 7, 2023Equipment. Some CX-5 and CX-30 customers may find that the liftgate does not close when pressing the power liftgate (PLG) rear switch (A) located on the interior liftgate trim. This may be caused by PLG switch corrosion. Water from a high pressure car washer and/or condensation may drip onto the switch connector and cause corrosion. To eliminate this concern, the PLG rear switch has been modified with a waterproof connector.
- 10240496Jul 6, 2023Body and structure. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage when parked near a glass building or Low-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection.

- 10238697Jun 5, 2023Body and structure, Equipment. Interior parts made of resin have antistatic coating to prevent dust from sticking on the surfaces, and depending on the conditions of use, the antistatic components may crystallize slightly, giving an appearance of white stains on the surface. To remove the stains, wipe the stained surface with a towel soaked with water mixed with a small portion of a neutral detergent. If the white stains reappear again, simply…
- 10238695Jun 1, 2023Engine cooling. Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. This concern may be due to a loose or detached hood weatherstrip, which can cause a blockage or restriction in the air intake system.
- 10237217May 24, 2023Electrical system. Use the symptom troubleshooting tables below to diagnose MAZDA CONNECT concerns.
- 10237216May 24, 2023Electrical system, Engine cooling. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices.
- 10237215May 17, 2023Wheels. Some automotive cleaning products contain strong acid or alkali. When these types of cleaners are used to clean the wheels on Mazda vehicles, the chemicals contents penetrate the clear coating of the wheel surface and damage the paint under the clear coating. The damaged area has the appearance of dark stains or discoloration.

DTC B00A0:09 (Occupant classification sensor internal signal output unstable). This concern is caused by the low voltage detection time of the occupant classification sensor (OCS) being too short during cranking, which causes detection of the DTC unnecessarily.
- 10232279Feb 16, 2023Electrical system, Seat belts, Seats, Forward collision avoidance. Some vehicles may turn on the passenger seatbelt reminder, even though there is no passenger seated in the vehicle. This concern may be caused by the passenger sensor being too sensitive.
