“In the last 2 weeks, when the vehicle is started, the airbag light by the speedometer flashes twice, stops, flashes twice, then stops. This continues for about 20-30 seconds after the car is started and is running/idling. Once the 20-30 seconds have passed, the airbag light then remains permanently lit. It remains lit while driving. The cycle starts again once the car is restarted.”
NHTSA complaint #11291086, filed 2019-12, 81,075 miles“Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 Mazda CX-7. The contact stated that the air bag sensor made a beeping noise while driving. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 16v356000 (air bags) and 16v593000 (suspension). The parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.”
NHTSA complaint #10948572, filed 2017-01, 80,000 miles“On the 8th of august 2017 a flashing signal appeared and I checked my manual and it was an alert about airbag alert. I called hiley Mazda in grand prairie texas and made appointment. They wanted to charge me $99.99 and I left because the evening new said their was a recall for air bags my year and model.”
NHTSA complaint #11019441, filed 2017-08“Takata recall received airbag recall in july, warning me not to use the passenger seat, as of december 13, 2016 my vehicle has not been repaired. In october, I received a second safety recall for a potentially dangerous front suspension defect, again, no parts available to repair my car. I feel that my vehicle should be made safe now or I should be given alternate transportation until it is.”
NHTSA complaint #10934995, filed 2016-12“Takata recall: recall for my vehicle was announced by Mazda in may 2016 and as of september 14, 2016 Mazda still has not provided a resolution, other than not allow passengers to ride in the front seat, I guess so only the driver would be killed during an accident. I purchased this vehicle new in 2009 and it has been located in florida the entire time which is the high risk area. It would seem that Mazda should have a solution available by now to replace these airbags or provide an alternative for replacing the vehicle before more people are injured.”
