“Takata recall issued may 25, 2016 and we were just notified august 12, 2016. Remedy not yet available and Mazda suggest the vehicle should not be driven. We have not had an accident yet, but if we do, how can we not drive a car that we own?we have to work to pay bills. How many months, and/or deaths, until a remedy is available?”
NHTSA complaint #10895309, filed 2016-08, 24,000 miles“There was a recall on my vehicle in oct 2016 , I had already lost control of my vehicle and had an accident in sept 2016 and had to pay insurance fees storage fees and lost wages due to accident. Mazda sent me a letter as of march 2018 saying that thet now have the parts to fix it after 6 months..I was driving down the street and lost control of steering and crashed into a parked car. I would like to find out how I can be compensated because I lost control of the vehicle because of defect”
NHTSA complaint #11082057, filed 2018-03, 70,000 miles“Manufacturer recall number 9716h I have to Mazda dealership for this recall issue because the sterling wheel is tight to turn the wheels and the dealership declines to fix this problem answering that Mazda had hold on the parts and there is no supply. So wanted help regarding this matter.”
NHTSA complaint #11065972, filed 2018-01, 109,000 miles“Drive side front tire came off while driving about 20 MPH. Ball joint separated. Car slide hit cub and tire on passenger side was hit and blew out. There is recall on ball joint. I did not get notice.”
NHTSA complaint #11255321, filed 2019-09, 156,000 miles“Front suspension ball joint fitting. Water may enter the front suspension ball joint fitting. Driving on roadways during the winter months in areas that use roadway salts can lead to salt and water intrusion into the ball joint causing corrosion. As a result the ball joint loosens and a rattle may occur. Extended operation in this condition will deteriorate the ball joint and the lower control arm could separate. Significant loss of steering control may increase the chance of a fatal crash. At this time we are experiencing a small rattle in the front.”
