“There was a recall on my vehicle in oct 2016 , I had already lost control of my vehicle and had an accident in sept 2016 and had to pay insurance fees storage fees and lost wages due to accident. Mazda sent me a letter as of march 2018 saying that thet now have the parts to fix it after 6 months..I was driving down the street and lost control of steering and crashed into a parked car. I would like to find out how I can be compensated because I lost control of the vehicle because of defect”

NHTSA complaint #11082057, filed 2018-03, 70,000 miles

“There is a recall NHTSA 16v593 regarding the suspension on this vehicle. I own a Mazda cx7 sgt xa with 24,000 miles. Wanted to trade this vehicle in and acura dealer advised about recall and stated they could not accept as trade until recall is fixed. Contacted Mazda and was advised that the parts are not available to replace the lower control arms. Mazda advised that they will notify me in mid september about implementing a remedy. I am left in the situation that I can not trade in this vehicle should I want to.”

NHTSA complaint #10898757, filed 2016-08, 24,000 miles

“I received a recall notice for ball joints however no parts were available at the time to correct the problem. Waited over a year and the ball joint let go so I was unable to drive my Mazda. I took it to the repair shop and had it fixed. 3 months later I received a notice from Mazda that the parts were in. I called Mazda 3 times asking for a reimbursement as I had to pay out of my own pocket for a recall that they were unable to fix. I have not received any calls back. I would like to be compensated for my out of pocket costs to repair the ball joints.”

NHTSA complaint #11162010, filed 2018-12, 152,000 miles

“Severe clunking noise from front driver wheel when driving on most roads. Noise is believed to be related to the failing ball joint. Manufacturer has an open recall 9716h / NHTSA recall number 16v-593. Despite the recall notice being issues on august 10, 2016 (18 months ago), the status is recall incomplete, remedy not yet available according to the dealer. The vehicle is not safe to drive and Mazda has no timeframe for a fix.”

NHTSA complaint #11074578, filed 2018-02, 34,500 miles

“Front suspension ball joint fitting. Water may enter the front suspension ball joint fitting. Driving on roadways during the winter months in areas that use roadway salts can lead to salt and water intrusion into the ball joint causing corrosion. As a result the ball joint loosens and a rattle may occur. Extended operation in this condition will deteriorate the ball joint and the lower control arm could separate. Significant loss of steering control may increase the chance of a fatal crash. At this time we are experiencing a small rattle in the front.”
