“While traveling approximately 70–80 mph on a heavily traveled interstate with significant commercial truck traffic, the vehicle suddenly stopped responding normally to accelerator input. I pressed the accelerator pedal fully multiple times, but the vehicle would not accelerate. I was traveling with my mother and young child and was able to safely move the vehicle to the shoulder. After shutting the vehicle off and restarting it, a high-voltage battery temperature warning briefly appeared on the instrument display for several seconds and then disappeared. …”

“On multiple occasions, the steering wheel became stiff or locked while driving or during start-up, multiple dashboard warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle could not be shifted from Park to Drive. The failure mileage was 300.”

NHTSA complaint #11772905, filed 2026-10, 300 miles

“Instrument cluster will reboot during braking at random times. All warning lights turn on, gauges go to zero and front wipers are set off. This happens for 1-3 seconds. Mazda replaced instrument cluster but only made issue worsen they said it’s safe to drive but very distracting especially when turning onto busy roads. Currently being experienced by multiple other vehicles, so not isolated. Bought in February 2026 and started in early March 2026, currently still an issue as of June 2026.”

NHTSA complaint #11743274, filed 2026-06

Ongoing Incident: Incident has been ongoing since 300 miles- while driving all lights come on the dash and the gauge cluster shuts down, windshield wipers come on and then gauge cluster starts back up, all while going about 45mph. has occurred 4+ times. Vehicle has been in and out of service - total 26 days in service and is where it presently sits.”
