“2004 Mazda 6 wagon. During the 6 months I have owned this vehicle. I have had four occurrences when taking a highway ramp that the car either stalls or looses power when re-entering the roadway. This occurs when the fuel tank is a 1/4 full and below.”

“I have a 2004 Mazda 6s I have had two incidents where the fuel line has detached from inside the engine and the car has stalled and gasoline has poured out from underneath the car. The first time the dealership told me that there was a recall and I should received it in the mail , I later found out there was no recall . They then fixed the car supposely and three months later it happened again.”

NHTSA complaint #10080380, filed 2004-07, 4,256 miles

“I am the original owner of the vehicle, I complained of engine surge on several visits to Mazda, and they would always say they were unable to duplicate the problem. I was recently driving the vehicle when it accelerated on it's own, the RPM's would fluctuate between 2 and 4. The vehicle accelerated uncontrollably, I had difficulty stopping at stop signs and traffic lights on my way to my mechanic. When I reached his garage I left the vehicle in park to show him what it was doing and it idled at 3 rpms. The mechanic has not been able to repair the vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #10212282, filed 2007-12, 1,500 miles

“Engine will shut off without warning at any speed. I researched the issue and found that there are a large number of complaints regarding the exact same symptoms with the 2003-2005 Mazda 6. Mazda even released a service bulletin: 01-016/06 in 2006 regarding a bad throttle body with aa, ab, or ba markings. Sure enough after removing the throttle body, mine had the aa markings. From the amount of online complaints and the fact that a service bulletin was released, this is not an isolated issue. This is a huge safety concern and should be a safety recall. …”
