“My gas pedal is sticking intermittently. According to my internet search, the v6's for this model was recalled, but not the 4 cylinder version I have. I have to believe it is a similar problem. I just want it to get fixed as it is a safety issue. Either it is going to get stuck in the full speed mode or not let me change out of a 2 miles and hour mode.”

NHTSA complaint #11055578, filed 2017-12, 110,000 miles

“Last night 01/11/2018, I was driving home and my airbag light came on. This morning my gas pedal was sticking, and it was hard to drive/go. Once I reached the main street, it was hard to accelerate. Now the airbag light won't go off.”

NHTSA complaint #11062384, filed 2018-01, 140,000 miles

“Tribute gas pedal is locking (sticking) and unable to be pressed. This problem has occurred several times lately the latest being this morning while taking my child to school trying to go up a hill I was unable to press the gas pedal which I had to abruptly pull over nearly causing an accident and scaring my child and myself. This is occurring more frequently and thus becoming more hazardous. Something needs to be done to correct this problem, it going to cause a serious accident or fatality.”

NHTSA complaint #10432530, filed 2011-10, 130,000 miles

“When cold, gas pedal will not depress. Becomes firm and resistant to pressure. Have to slam on pedal, but receive no power from engine---happens alot when trying to turn corners, will not accelerate- can cause severe if not fatal accident if this occurs at the wrong time. Please force Mazda to issue recall for this part, could be related to throttle body as well..”

NHTSA complaint #10717683, filed 2015-05, 10,000 miles

“Door ajar light comes on even though all doors are firmly closed. Warning alarm (ding) comes on randomly along with interior dome light and won't shut off. All doors are closed but light goes on and off randomly and constantly draining the battery. Also just had to replace the smart junction box because the door unlock button no longer worked on any of the doors or key fob so I could no longer open the back hatch.”

NHTSA complaint #10950360, filed 2017-02, 63,000 miles
