“When I fill up with gas, the car salon fills up with the gas smell. The problem should be in the fuel pump or so. The smell is persistent in the garage. While driving, I did not notice. When the amount of gas in the fuel tank decreases, the smell goes away. I removed the back seat and so the gas residue over the pump.”

NHTSA complaint #11083248, filed 2018-04, 20,000 miles“After refueling car to full, car has a strong fuel smell. The smell persists if the car is over 3/4's full or greater. This has happened since I purchased this car but I couldn't determine where the smell was coming from until I took it to the mechanic and he said the fuel was spilling from the top of the fuel sending unit!!! He mentioned that this is a safety issue and that I need to check if this recalled already. I am now very mortified of this issue!!!”
