“I was driving home and the R350 jerked and then slowed down and would not shift gears, stayed on first gear all through my ride home. The car started in the morning but again would not shift gears and no warning light showed on the dash board. I have taken it to the dealer shop where I bought it in va and I am awaiting the verdict.”
NHTSA complaint #10452494, filed 2012-03, 127,000 miles“I had to take the vehicle to the shop for repairs at least every 3-5 months since the day I bought it, which was in 2010. Nearly all of the repairs have been under warranty, it only has less than 75, 000m. In september of this year while I was driving home from work when the car started stalling jerking and shout off. The engine light, esp light and the break light came on. It immediately restarted, the engine light stayed on, while the esp and break light went off. This was a very frighten experience, hoping I won't be hit from behind. I made it to the dealer ship. …”
NHTSA complaint #10546653, filed 2013-10, 75,000 miles“The check engine light came on and soon the car began to have trouble starting. I then began sputtering while driving. Mercedes dealer informed us that the balance shaft had failed and needed to be replaced. This repair would cost close to $6,000. I have seen that this is a very common complaint, almost as if it is to be expected. I also see that there is a class action lawsuit that was filed in 2010. This poses a safety problem when I drive my children, and I cannot afford to pay the repair bill.”
